We would very much appreciate your understanding.

Cancellation of the test in 2020 (July) of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
The Japan Foundation
Japan Educational Exchange and Services

We regret to announce that the test in 2020 (July) of JLPT is now cancelled at all testing sites, in Japan and overseas.
The worldwide spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) remains unpredictable.
JLPT is the worldwide large-scale test with over one million participants annually, requiring test takers and test proctors to stay in test venues over long hours.
Given such circumstances, we have determined that it would be extremely difficult to both secure the safety of examinees and others concerned and to administer the test in an appropriate manner.
We would very much appreciate your understanding.
Sincerely,

*For further details about procedures regarding cancellation
Outside of Japan:

Recent news reports suggest that falsified results documents for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) are available on the market.

Examinees outside Japan receive a Certificate of Japanese-Language Proficiency and a JLPT Certificate of Result and Scores issued by The Japan Foundation.
The test organizers are prepared to confirm whether results documents are authentic, or whether a holder of results documents has taken and passed the level indicated.
